This is an aged image of a Cretan playing a lyra...If you haven't heard this instrument- i advise you to stop what you are doing and youtube cretan Lyra as soon as possible.

This instrument brings me to life. Its as if the instrument itsself is my heart and each draw of the bow across its strings is the blood pumping to my veins. Up until Sunday night, I had not danced to cretan music in years... Sunday night the Dj began to play maleviziotikos, and pentozali and as soon as I heard the sound of the Lyra I immediately, as if by a trance made my way to the dance floor and found my place in the line..For the majority of the song my eyes were closed- i wanted to soak it in and feel the music and feel the rhythm of the people interlocked in the circle..i felt the sweat began to pour down my face and back, i felt the sweat from vasilis shirt and neck as i gripped his shoulder. Any other time or place I might have been slightly aware that the sweat dripping down my back would show through my clothes, not now. i felt as if each drop of sweat was well earned, and long awaited...i felt so proud. So unified- every one was incredibly spirited and intoxicated at this point, but it was passionate and it was shameless. I came alive, after a five year hiatus..i am alive again. ime yomatos zoi.

..i love ponies..

my hair is just below my chin but my goal is to have a business pony like j. aniston by next year this time..im not touching it except for trims to jeep it healthy. i want a pony! this is such a great picture...by the way, we are back together. i broke up with j. aniston for Alice Eve (outta my league) but when i saw her ponytail i had to get her back. For those of you who don't know me, i am in a relationship with everything..and when i decide i dont like it i 'break up with it' i have accepted the fact that i am a very strange and quirky person..take me as i am. but for reals...this time next year..its pony time!

..Mexchickan fashun..

..this here is a piece of aztec gold. i figured this would be a great image for this blog. yesterday i went to target to prepare for my clearwater beach trip for memorial day weekenda and instead of getting something schmancy i decided to buy an incredibly awesome aztec santa fe looking leather belt, and with this belt i created a pretty sweet outfit..i bought a mexican woven thin airy scarf and i already had some aztec coin looking earrings...its pretty awesome. now i have this new love for aztec and mexican influenced fashion..is shana moving away from black?! no way, i'd never break-up with black..but i AM mixing it up a bit. i can't wait for this trip! i need the beach and NOW. volleyball all day in the sand here i come!

all inclusive..dont mind if i do..

in a few very short weeks..i will be here in paradise. Turks and caicos beach is the most beautiful place i've ever been. i will be going with my love (jeremy)'s family and i couldnt be more excited! we are staying on the Beaches Resort, which is all inclusive. thats right..all the food and drink you can gorge yourself with until they either cut you off or you pass out..either way, either ways fine. Last year Tab, jeremy's sister, and i drank a drink called "hummingbird" which was strawberryish kahlua frozen drink and it was ridiculous.. The greatest part of it all is the beach of course..absolutely crystal clear water and hot sands...what more could you ask for? oh yes..and there are romantic dinners for two by candlelight..maybe soo!! who knows.. So i am definitely looking forward to this vacation and what great company too! :)

..when i grow up..

this is a highrise condo in dallas texas..now ive never been to texas so i have no idea if that'd be a fit for me, but this condo is. my dream has always been to live in a highrise apartment or condo surrounded by a bunch of windows. i love openness and heights are gorgeous to me. this would be very ideal..and since im going to be a teacher, very probable. ;)i would like to wake up every morning and be surrounded by weather..except also surrounded by glass..it would be such an incredible experience to go out on your porch and be i dunno hundreds of feet up and looking out over the city, to me thats perfect. im not a cottage person. although i can appreciate them and admire them for their quiant and timeless shabby chic'ness and cozy rooms which is what rae (my cousin/bff)
loves! the more claustrophobic, the better. thats my nightmare. i love space i love for things to be spread out with high cielings and tons of windows and natural light. i have issues with interior design..it takes me a while to situate things and position them in just the right places for everything to tie together..and colors and fabrics and patterns too. i have to take everything in steps.. anyway im rambling but i thought this was such a gorgeous example of an ideal place i'd want to live..this is pre-family with kids..thennn i want a town home!
